Originally produced for the course Ex-Machina the Nequin suit (2.1 x 1.4 meters) was presented at the Varia exhibition in December 2022. The course takes a look into cyberism and the alleged controversies of technology and human nature. This Nequin Suit is a fictional second skin worn for human comfort in the near future made from goose feathers and faux leather. It derives from the topic of ‘pointless’ commercial technologies. It is essential a look at the technological industry which evolves itself into the over-saturated representation of humans, rapidly leaving them faceless and figureless beings. In particular, I am interested in the capitalisation of accessible technologies.
